Places to play in New Orleans?

Hey there fellow AZ'rs. My company is sending me to the NADA convention in New Orleans in a couple of weeks. I'll get there on the 23rd of January and leave the following Monday the 26th.

Anyone want to meet up and play? I should be available in the evenings(late) but would like to meet some AZ'rs from the area for some cheap sets... 1pocket preferred but I'll play all the games. Can anyone recommend a good place to play? I'll be staying pretty close to the convention center so somewhere down that way would be best. PM me if you want to exchange phone numbers. Otherwise, any help getting steered into a decent place would be much appreciated

Few years ago when I was in New Orleans, Corner Pocket was the hot spot to be. Lots actions from big and small. All the roadies went through there.

Corner Pocket is a nice joint..........but if you want Diamond tables and Action. Go to Buff's!!!!!!!!

Buffalo's is the spot now. A little ways from the convention center but easy access VIA sled. Buff and JoeyA should be able to find you plenty of folks to play one pocket and there is a little one pocket tournament at 1:30 Friday afternoon. Very soft competition there, you should make a killing! :D :D :D

While Buffalo's is the spot to go, I fear that JoeyA. and possibly a few other regulars may at the DCC during this period.

I was afraid of that... I was hoping to make it to the derby myself this year but duty calls. Surely there are some folks not making the journey to the DCC

Buff will still be there and a handful more that should provide competition. If all else fails I suppose we could import some.

Hi,

Like I said in the beginning, it's been few years since I've been to New Orleans. It's awesome to hear there are new rooms, especially sporting Diamond Tables!!!!:))

Anyone coming to DCC 09 at Harrah's, please stop by and say hello. I will hang out at tournament room, TAR PIT and AZ Room.

YOu should be able to get some one pocket action at Buffalo's with AZBer Casey. Just call ahead or PM him to schedule some action with him. He isn't going to the DCC and is always game for some one pocket.

I will be at the DCC making my annual donation and having the time of my life. :smile:
