Take a race car out of Jack Roush Racing. Run it around the track. Now put a paint job on it, with the decals. The car should still run the same. It just looks nicer.
Now they build 3 race cars using the same templates, etc. One driver will run all three on the track. They were all built by the same craftsmen and to the same specs but one will run better. They now add the paint and decals but the same car still runs better. That is the one he takes to Daytona. The others are back ups or used by another driver. A new driver tests the so called slowest car and beats the time of what was the fastest car.
I think the same can be said about a cue.
