I recieved my postcard the other day regarding the 2007 Super Billiards Expo and decided to get "ahead of the game". Called to book my room at the Radison which is the site hotel from the event. It's already full except for a few rooms only available for Wed & Thur od the event. I was able to secure a room at the Sheraton which is only 3 stop lights away. The woman I spoke to was very nice and did mention they have rooms still available. The # for the Sheraton is 610-337-1800

i went to Hotwire, entered Valley Forge and got a room at the Homestead, right down the road for $49 a night. Pick the 2.5 Star one and that is the Hotel you should get.

Remember with Hotwire, if you dont go for any reason, they keep ALL your money. You can buy Trip Insurance for less than 10 bucks but i dont know how easy/hard it is to collect.

We stayed at the Homestead the first year we went. We prefer the Radison for the convenience, but the Homestead was absolutely the best "bang for the buck".

About a half a mile. It's a long walk, but it is walkable, as long as it ain't too doggone cold.

Sheraton has the best beds, I am told.

Homestead is my favorite. I have stayed there several times, and it is the best bang for the buck. Behind the Homestead, there is another hotel which is very reasonable, but I can't remember the name of it.

The Hilton, located several miles away, is a big joke at $100 a night. I did not like this Hilton one bit. It is old, long hallways, requiring one to walk and walk and walk to find your room. It is an older Hilton, and it just ain't as nice as the other options.

Parking at the Convention Center can be a difficulty if you are lodging off site. Depending on what time you arrive, you may be hunting for a parking space for quite some time, unless you desire to park at the top of the hill and hoof it. If you're competing in an event and staying off site, my best advice to you is to arrive at the Convention Center at least 1 hour or more in advance.

I've found google maps to be the best tool when looking for accomodations, esp in an area that you're not familiar with. It shows you where the hotels are in relation to your destination and also provides you with the contact info to those hotels.

There is no guarantee-if you dont have a car dont chance it but my experience is it is 90%. If you dont happen to get the Homestead, you will get another good one nearby-Hotwire doesnt give you any mom and pop 3rd world places and you wont be more than 3 miles away if you enter Valley Forge-its not a big place.

to get a room in the Radisson.. you reall should have your reservation by september.. we usually register as we were leaving on sunday but this past year they told us we couldnt.. so when we went to august for the 8ball tournament, i was going to register.. but it was like taking forever so i decided when i get home i will call.. so i called in november and they told me that friday and saturday were booked solid.. first time in like 5 years we couldnt get in.. we hate changing hotels so we booked at the sheraton..105 per night.. kinda sucks.. but i dont think it will be too bad.. we leave the expo everyday for breakfast and dinner anyways.. i wont make this same mistake twice.. thats for sure...

Hey thanks for the help everybody... Think I'll go for the Homestead. I used to go to VF every year in the 90's but life/business has kept me away since 2000. Used to be able to easily book rooms at The Radison in November & December I think I'll walk it (weather permitting) like JAM suggested. That parking lot (hill) is a real drag.

I feel your pain. I go to Philly every yr for Easter & I stop in and make my reservations on my way home because I drive right by it on the turnpike. This yr they were doing construction or something like that because traffic at the toll booth was backed up onto the turpike.

I figured I would make the reservations in August... too late. Not staying on site this yr is going to suck. If I can't get in there on Easter wkend, I'll be sure to make the call when I get home and not wait.
