I don't know too many people who play a decent speed that will play a race to 3 in anything except one-pocket, too short for comfort.

For $25, a race to 3 doesn't seem out of line for a good player. That is, many good players wouldn't want to play a race to 7 for just $25.Fart sniffer said:I don't know too many people who play a decent speed that will play a race to 3 in anything except one-pocket, too short for comfort.

This thread is pointless the guy is probabble a c-d player trying to get s**t started. Lets be real i promise you there are guys not to far from him that will give him action.
Fart sniffer said:Lately I've been playing a "professional" from Japan some cheap sets, races to 7 for $20 or to 9 for $30, for practice. Anything shorter than that is not really good for what we want which is good practice, nice and cheap.
But I wouldn't consider a $25 race to 3 action, which is what Mood-dude eluded to and what I was really addressing.

Matt_24 said:I promise I'll try that wild 7, 8, and the breaks you mentioned you like to give out. I'm just a hop, skip, and a jump from you in the lovely Alexandria, VA and we can bet more than $25 per set. Not woofing...just saying.
Matt <-- Likes the 7, 8, and the breaks

Pushout said:Well, lets take a good look here. You come here and say you're looking for action. You say you play too good to find any in your area, without giving up the 7, at least. You say you want to challenge yourself and just a bit later, you say you're looking for easy money. This is the double talk of which I spoke. You say you like to play pushout, but the game you describe is not pushout, but one-foul-ball-in-hand/Texas Express. I've haven't heard of the current game of 9 ball being called pushout, ever. This makes it sound like you've been playing with your friends for quite a while and that is what they call it, not knowing any better. You play better than your friends and they tell you that you should go on the road, which it sounds like they know nothing about, or they wouldn't be telling you that. What I'm hearing here is that your friends may play well and they may not. They may be bangers for all we know.
You're offered action, in your area, or within an 8 hour drive and you refuse the action for reasons unknown and say the drive {to where ever} is too far. And you want to go on the road?? What's the road, a mile down the street?? Ever go to Bill and Billies when it was open? You might have got your nose opened for you.
You could play Ryan, but he plays better than you {1speed} or you would have to show too much if you beat him??? You say you've got a bankroll and better yet, two backers, but Greenville, SC, Raleigh, NC, etc. are too far???
10 ball is rapidly replacing 9 ball among people who take the game seriously, for a good many reasons. You tell somebody that if they saw you break they wouldn't want to play, I think they'd like to see you get out a few times. And there are guys {and girls} out there who can lay down the lemon like nobody you ever saw. And Goddess forbid you find some old geezer who wants to play you some pushout. If you've never played it, and you obviously haven't, you'll get eaten alive.
I really hope you'll stick around and learn something, like the rest of us. But you sound like a pretender and we've seen a bunch of them.
