Player's Rooms in Chicago

Am considering a move from Central Jersey to Chicago and I wonder what the player's rooms are in that town. Is there much 14.1 there?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

There are several pretty decent poolrooms in Chicago. Chris's Billiards, on N. Milwaukee was THE players' room for years. You can still find good players and action there. Red Shoes, on the South Side, in Alsip, seems to be where many of the best players hang out. The owner is a good player too. That's where you're likely to find some 14.1 tournaments and/or action.

The Illiinois Billiards Club is the place your looking for. Lots of straight pool there, and it's a private club. There is a AZ guy named Walsh here that posts all the time... he's the guy to hook up with.

But for best room, you can't do better than Pyramid Club in Addison. Nicest pool room in the state hands down and all 9foot gold crown, full bar and restaurant, nice eye candy too !!!

Depending on your location in the city, either pool hall is a great choice for the player. They're both worth the trip, the two must-see pool halls in the Chicago area I believe.

Thanks...just looked up the website of the IBC and it looks great. Here is a question: are rooms in Chicago subject to a non-smoking ban? If so does IBC avoid that by being a private club?

IBC is for sure non smoking it is a real nice room great people not really an action room.

What he said....

Everything here is non-smoking. The only bars that get around it are the ones with a beer garden that is located outdoors. Restaurants, bars, pool halls, the works. I believe the only place that you can smoke is inside a tobacco selling only shop......

But then again, I like the ban
