Players thrown out of Riviera for gambling

Put_upor_shutup...If you believe that kind of behavior "enhances" watching the match, then it should take place somewhere other than a casino, in full view of security. They have been playing high dollar pool for decades at pool rooms everywhere (including Vegas), with very few mishaps. If this had been at Pool Sharks or The Cue Club there wouldn't have been a peep, regardless of what was said. Of course obnoxious behavior is just that...and many business owners will show people the door who act this way (and good riddance, imo).

Yeah in the casino isn't the right place for that kind of action. if anything they should have taken it to the pool room to act like that

It seems there is a lot of bad information here.

In a nutshell, Timmy Heath (who was only allowed to play with the understanding that he would not even fart in public) and a nother gentleman were playing some decent priced pool.

I was there about 1 AM - I think. They were getting a 'little noisy and a little drunk'.

As I understand, the Riv security (who are not the friendliest people in the joint) were in the area and they were attractd by the noise.

One of the players just HAS to yell out (while the security guy is talking to them) - I am tired of playing for $200 - $500 you cheap MF'er. Well, this really got the seciruty guard attention and he threw them out.

Can't say I disagree. People that act like that in a public situation only draw attention to the other 6,700 pool players that might want to make a friendly wager. It is beyond rude and was challeng the authority of the Riv security.

Maybe people will understand that gambling does not have to be 'in your face'. Too much booze and not enough common sense was the problem.

As Scott Lee stated - keep in on 'the low down' and there probalby will not be a problem. But gambling is not 'legal' - but has been tolerated. Just respect where you are and others will respect you.

I was not there - but that is pretty much what happened.

Mark Griffin,

Well with tidbit of new info it's different, drunk and stupid is what got them thrown out.

Yesterday I spoke with one of the players (not Tim) whom I was told was involved in that adventure. He flatly denies being involved. He told me I was mis-lead.

As my original post in this thread stated, loud and stupid is just loud and stupid! As what normally happens, a few posters immediately picked up on the gambling part of the thread and blew that out of proportion. One of these days, the Nevada Gaming Commission is going to be be watching (or reading) and another "fun" aspect of the National events will go away.

It may have just been a case of the gaming commision on the premesis. Back in 2003-04 the Riv used to have a small action room behind the Splash bar that was 24 hour gambling.

When I heard about it in Vegas, everyone was laughing about "getting kicked out of a casino for gambling."

Is this the same Timmy that was running around DCC with a Goofy hat on?

Yes. I remember seeing a pic somewhere with the goofy hat but I have no idea where I saw it. This is a post from a few years ago that to this day is one of my favorites. :D

i ahve told you many times --JUSTIN IS NOT SCOOTER, Fred goodman is scooters name he is from ohio, the kid with the hat and mustache is timmy heath and he is a tool

I spoke with a friend in Reno this a.m. He called the NV Gaming Control Board. Per his call the two whom the Rivera booted, did not break NV Gaming Control Board Rules. It must have been for BEHAVOR! Per the Agent he spoke with GAMBLING like was going on over a GAME of POOL is not against NV Gaming Control Board Rules. The Riveria is private property, so if they want you to leave for any reason you must leave it is their property, not a public place!.

I was there during the entire incident and can confirm Mark's take on how everything went down. Timmy had drew a crowd for a few nights in a row with all his crazy antics, yelling and his crew yelling back a few statements.

I watched him take one of the Portugal Guys for a good amoun on 2 sets just a few nights earlier. Both sets were really close and that was probably because of the language barrier.

These guys got kicked out because they were throwing money around and being idiots at the wrong time. It easily could have been avoided, even after security got involved, but like Mark said above, they were drunk and being idiots for too long that they couldn't pull it back when they needed too.
