Playing 10-Ball the other Night

I've just recently started playing 10-Ball and I like it alot , so the other night at the bar that I shoot league at we have Free pool Tuesdays so instead of Playing 9-ball I racked up 10-ball since I was alone before some of my other friends from are league showed up .

So when they showed up they noticed that I had one extra ball on the table and asked me what I was doing and I said playing 10-Ball and they looked at me like I was looney Toons and said they never had heard of it so we played it for a little while and One of my good friends comes up to the table and started playing it and he quickly said he wanted to play 9-ball , well I was so sick and tired of 9-ball I said no 10-ball .

He ran a few racks and thought he was king sh*t and made sure to let me know , and I'm just looking at him like WTF , I said to him you may have ran a few rack but you banged half of them in and as for me I found my patterns and didn't bang a ball in and I play the game with alot of heart .

So what I'm trying to get at hear is that Is there anyone else here that has had racked up 10-ball and the other person asked you what you were doing , because it seems like everyone where I live have never heard of 10-ball .

About 6 or 7 years ago I was just starting to play in poolrooms again. I had played 100% in bars only for about 12 years or more. After I played in this one room in Tampa for a few weeks I'd play this guy about my age some 9-ball races cheap about every night. Anyhow he comes in one night while I'm matched up with someone on another table. When I finished with my match-up I went over to him and noticed he was racking short-rack. I asked him what he was playing and he said 10-ball and that it use to be a big game years ago in his state. Can't remember what state he was from. Anyhow I had never heard of the game until then.
