Playing Billiards With a Gun

Let me preface this thread by saying don't try this at home!

Playing pool with a handgun instead of a pool cue looks fun as hell. Just don’t do it at your local dive bar.

Matt Carriker hosts a game by literally booting a pool stick out of the way and proclaims: "We don't need this trash here."

A video by the YouTube entertainment channel Demolition Ranch shows the world’s most dangerous game of pool, where the participants take turns blasting balls around the table with a pistol.

It gets off to a rocky start, when the cue ball literally explodes after the first round impacts.

I don't post often here and I've made it a rule to never say anything negative but for this, I make an exception. Firing a handgun at a shallow angle to a hard slate surface inevitably produces a ricochet, not to mention the unpredictability of bullets hitting hard, round billiard balls. Those folks don't really know where those rounds are going to go. They are are idiots.

The message here, Miss JAM, is aimed (no pun intended) at all the boys and girls out there.
Stay in school, and stay away from adult beverages.

In one of those snippets, he appears to be shooting towards a vehicle. Very dumb.

I shoot IDPA, or used to before my Saturdays became too occupied with doing stuff with kids. We shoot at bowling pins (wooden) a lot, due to the cockeyed shape and difficulty to hit at distance. Gotta agree that shooting at the slate and hard phenolic balls seems a bit too cute by half.

Not exactly Mensa. Quite Dangerous, foolish, etc. I have nothing against guns just how they are used. The vid promotes absolutely zero. I hope his neighbors are ducking.

Reminds me of the most common last words of rednecks:

Hold my beer and watch this!;)

I presumed the thread was about wearing.

My personal carry is a P12 ..45 cal but that's too large to wear when I go to the pool hall.
I wear a right hand strong side carry and I shoot pool right handed so it's not the best combo.

When I shoot pool, I wear my S&W .38 +P (titanium) in a small of the back paddle holster.
Despite that my Para is a aluminum frame, it is still much heavier than my S&W quite a bit.
Totally understandable since the caliber is much larger and has larger capacity (12 vs 5) but
CA restricts the mag load so you can only load 10 rds.......still 10 rds of .45 vs 5 rds of .38+P.

People may question why wear your rig when you go to shoot pool if it gets in the way?
Well, it doesn't if you carry the right piece and holster for comfortable, concealed carry.
Small of the back eliminates any interference with your pool stroke and as far as comfort,
if you find that bothersome, then it's apparent you don't wear & carry very much.

When you are have the privilege of carrying a concealed weapon, what the _uck good is
your CCW permit, or your weapon, if it's sitting in the trunk of your car at the pool hall when
the need arises???? I am not paranoid or fearful of being harmed but I am realistic. You do
not know, nor can you predict, when the actual situation confronts you where you wish you
were carrying but aren't.....I even carry when I go to the doctor's office.....unless it is clearly
and legally prohibited, you can just assume I am carrying all the time when outside my home.

Like the line in the Alien vs. Predator movie....."Guns are like prophylactics.....better to have
one and not need it than to need one and not have it."
