Playing characteristics of shaft wood

Pat is at the top of my list, nice.
He's a good guy. I've played alot of his cues. And have a shaft from him. He makes good stuff. His torrefied shafts ive played all felt great. (I have played some of his cues I didn't like at all. They weren't bad quality wise...I just didn't like them for whatever reason. They were older builds) I think his newer stuff has gotten a little more consistent.

I have a few of pat's cues and they feel right to me.

He has been very good to me.

I very much want a high quality Birdseye shaft. Maybe even curly maple.

Can anybody give me a realistic lead on that?

Several years back, like maybe 15 or more, Scott Frost and Gus Briseno, a strong AZ player, were selling birdseye maple shafts -- probably not anymore but you never know if there's some old stock laying' around...
