Playing pool with snooker cue?

I was just wondering if anybody has had any luck or experience playing pool with a snooker cue? I am a bigger guy with thick fingers, and I like the smaller shafts that a snooker cue has, but have never had the opportunity to play with one. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

We have a guy around here that plays with one. One of the best players around. Great shape player. From England so thats what he is use to.
I have one and made my kids shoot with it, they like to hit hard and if they do with my snooker cue.....miscue.

I use a snooker cue. 10.5mm tip.
Also got a 13mm tip Break/Jump cue.

Personal preference I reckon - but I'm pretty much just a banger so...
 
I don't think a snooker cue will ever win a major pool tournament.....
....and a pool cue will ever win a major snooker tournament.

These games are tough enough...why not use the right tool?
 
I played with a guy that was using something like a snooker cue last week. We were playing 14.1 which is the only game he plays other than 3 cushion. Cue looked 6 feet long with a 9mm tip. Totally custom cue. Looked like white ash with an elephant wrap. No inlays no points. Very plain. I asked him if it was a snooker cue and he told me it was a 3 cushion cue. He was a very good player to boot. Really enjoyed playing with him because he doesn't say much just plays pool and occasionally will say nice shot or good shape. Learned a lot that session and look forward to playing him again.
 
you could

use a cue like i make its a cross between a pool cue and a caron cue. pool cue butt, with a carom style shaft [ constant taper ] . i have made a couple of them with a 10 mm tip for players that play both snooker and pool.
