Pro-player,

Interesting spot. Three games stuck isn't too bad after 4 hours with Parica.

howz this for a spot......you win by hitting the next # ball against the back rail. ie,,,,,,bank, combo, whatever and however. it just has to touch the back rail.:):):)

ginky offered a b player this spot. the game never happened.

Just saw the great Efren Reyes play some regular guy 10-6 for $25 a game and race to 9 for $50 in 9 ball. Of course these guys had no chance but it was like paying for a lesson and saying one had the opportunity with playing a world champ. This is after Efren won $10,000 in the Gabriels tournament. I guess this is the state of pool. Somehow I dont think Tiger or Agassi would ever match up with anybody for that kind of money.

REALLY! Now thats fantastic, I want to play him now, can I can I! :-))

Great info though, I look forward to meeting Mr Majic even more now!

Personally though I couldn't understand why the Pros would not want to play for anything, for me they should love pool and if a young kid wants to play them they should make the guys day. Its obvious that whoever wants to play him for money is an admirer, it shouldn't all be about the money. Good to hear its not always?

The sad thing about it Craig is all the other pros sitting around waiting for any kind of action. To play Efren is a once in a lifetime thing. But to play a Sambajon or a Morro no one wants to do unless you're some kind of Masochist. So most of the time is spent waiting for the next tournament or giving up some really tough spots where they might lose so they have to get a backer and then they only get 40% of that.
By the way all those things they say about Efren is true. He really is a nice guy which is rare when gambling is concerned. He came to our place and played anybody everygame for anything including 3 rail. An in between sat around eating hot dogs talking with us about the best places to play in the Phillipines. I must say the same goes for Jose who is really approachable, I guess they save their fierceness for the table.

where is your place by the way? Did he lose money to anyone, or was he just too good?

I'm quiting my job next year to go to the states and I'm going to do a bit of travelling in between, would love to spend a month in the Phillipines playing with the best. Will get to meet the great man then hopefully.

Cheers

Craig

House pros

Up here in Quebec we have a few house pros who are or have been professional players and work at poolrooms as a house pro. They often play for the house and either offer lessons at the price of the table or play 5 for 500 right down to even depending on what kind of odds you are looking for. I know Alain Martel (Canadian Chanpion) and Nick Nicolaidas (World record holder) play in and around montreal.

Im in Southern California. When Efren is in town he usually can be found at Hard Times in Bellflower or Shooters in Riverside or the Billiard Connection in Granada Hills. Jose can be found playing there too.
