Hi ya'll, I have a fun fact for you today. Cues like the Cuetec SVB Gen One are known to be pretty rear-weighted. Add to that a full time extension and you would expect it becomes even more butt-heavy, right? Well not exactly.
Because extensions are lower density / lighter than an equivalent butt section, the weight that they bring has less impact compared to the extra length. When you measure the balance point from the end of the cue, typical lightweight extensions actually make the cue more forward balanced.
Example: My (Mezz) playing cue has the balance point at 19" measured from the butt end. When I add a 2" extension, the balance point now becomes 20.5" from the extension end. The balance point actually moves forward 1.5" as measured from the end of the cue. Something for you to think about.
