The shots with the ball coming backwards is a HUGE foul!! No doubt about it!!! Like mentioned before watch the guy use his shaft to contact the cuebal after the stroke. Its very slight but you can see it if you look hard enough.

Ill tell you this.... I learned something with the last two shots of the video. Both the 9 ball and 6 ball shots were completely legal and shots you should know :thumbup2:

Don't you think on those shots what is happening is the cue strikes the white ball which hit's the object ball and then after that occurs the cue strikes the cue ball again propelling it forwards after the object ball?

Even if we cannot see this with the naked eye, we can infer that this is what happened right? It happens fast but it is hitting the cue ball at least twice.

I come from a snooker background and pools specific rules on this situation have always seemed a little murky to me, but to my eyes that a major push shot/double hit foul.

The leather material is called the pocket liner. The pocket facing is the cloth part that covers the shims (usually) in the jaws. The frames in the video missed the contact with the facing. Have you gone back to 0:51 and looked at the shot in wide angle? It is an absolutely standard trick shot. Here it is in Mike Massey's book:

In the wide angle it does look like he's playing off the opposite cushion but in the close-up the CB doesn't come anywhere near the opposite cushion. I think it's two different shots. I can't believe the camera missed that much.

I've played both shots -- off the point and the masse -- dozens if not hundreds of times. My belief is different from yours.
