This cue seems nice. Love the shaft taper and feel. The points are all noticeable different in length. The bumper has a G on it. No writing anywhere on her.

Looks very much like the meucci m1 on ebay. Same different length points. Wish he showed the end of the bumper in better light.

national made most of those plain cues for others that sold them under their name. they were good hitting cues.

they were the best sneaky cues of their time and maybe still are. i have one for 50 or so years still straight and plays lights out and has won likely more money in pool rooms and bars than any other single cue anywhere over a period of time.. still stays in a car. they were about 15 bucks then. brass joint two black collars.

they also tried making fancy cues but they sucked and didn't go far. gandy had a few different makers under their name for other junk cues.

I am a National/Gandy collector and would be interested in that sneaky.
I would love to see pictures of the joint please.

It is NOT likely a National made cue, it is likely a Gandy that I estimate was made in the early to mid seventies. Probably after 73 and before 76. Probably before Viking started making them. I don't believe it is a Ricco cue, but later. It could be even later than that, I am making educated guesses here.

Honestly, nothing magical or special about it as a cue, just a well made sneaky.

National did make Gandy cues, but Gandy had their own shop run by Ricco Cervantes starting about 1970.

Cue makers that made Gandy cues included Bob Meucci who took over in 1968.

Outsourced makers were first National, AE Schmitt, Viking for about 10 years, and then later Adam.

Being a house brand they never made it big like McDermott, Viking, Meucci, etc. The notion that they made junk cues is ridiculous. They just didn't grow and enjoy the success of some of the other brands but some of the big names makers moved through the National/Gandy shop.

The early cues had no bumper. I am not sure exactly what year they started adding bumpers.

Later cues were imports, including sneakies, and they had a logo.

Here is an example of a Ricco Cervantes made Gandy as documented by Dick Abbott, it is an ebony Titlist conversion HC-140 Gandy. I do own the cue.
