Bought this cue about 8 years ago. Since then it has been my main player, although that is only about 40 days a year. I must say it hits a bit softer than both of my Scruggs cues and I prefer the hit. Maybe it's the ivory joint. It is a full splice Titlist blank.

Recently had the opportunity to have the cue x-rayed at a veterinarian. They could only do a 17" image so I had them do the top half and bottom half as seperate images (there is a cigarette lighter in each to keep one of the shafts from moving)

The veneers on this cue are absolutely amazing!!!!

I was told when I purchased the cue the wrap is Cortland, but I'm not sure. It feels a bit softer than the other wrapped cues I've owned, and could use a cleaning and pressing.

Looks like there was a very minor repair to the wood in one of the points, will try to get that picture uploaded soon.

Recently had the opp

Will have weights for butt and shafts soon.

I believe the tips are about 12.5, will have them measured Thursday evening.

Joint 5/16x14 piloted
Butt 28 7/8"
Ivory joint 1"

Shaft 1 (Ivory ferrule)
29 7/8"
Collar 3/8"
Tip unknown
Does have a pad between the ferrule and tip, like Tascarella and a few other high end cuemakers

Shaft 2 (appears to be a linen based material with some grain similar to ivory)
29 15/16" (not including tip or extension on pilot)
Collar is 3/8"

Diameter measurements of the butt:
At the end of butt 1.27"
At the white ring 1.268"
At the wood where it meets the bottom of the wrap 1.20"
At the middle of the wrap 1.13"
At the wood just above the wrap 1.03"
Middle of forearm .96"
At black collar of joint .83"
Joint (about 1/4" from the end) .817"

Length of each point from wrap tp tip of point (at the end of purple veneer)
6 15/16"
6 15/16"
6 15/16"
6 3/4"

Both Rick Phillippi and Leon Sly have seen the cue and helped me take measurements, I will be adding a few more soon.

I welcome any insight from my fellow AZers!

(EDIT: Regarding the following, I think my first impression was off. The veneers and points very well may be Titlist.)

IMHO that's not a Titlist, and it's not Cortland. The veneer colors and points in general are wrong for a Titlist. And that is speckled linen, Cortland had one of the 9 threads in green, which is different from speckled linen. I could be wrong on the linen I admit (but I don't think so), but I don't believe I am wrong on the points/veneers.

I am not sure what that cue is at the moment but when I get more time I'll have a closer look.

I am curious as to why you think it is not a titlist. The veneers and points certainly look right to me.

The veneer colors look "off" to me. Way too green instead of the teal.

But, I have gone back and looked and I guess that it could be. Of course, the pics could be altering the color a bit as well.

My first impression was "no", but I went and got my own and compared and now I am not so confident in that statement. Mine is a sixties Hoppe Pro. I am thinking maybe a later blank with the brighter veneer colors?

I'm no expert, for sure, but I'd say it IS a titlist and it isn't Cortland linen. There's lot's of great cuemakers who convert these-it reminds me of a Deviney (sp) that I saw recently-but whoever it is, it looks like a real nice one to me.

The cue kind of resembles one of my Andy Gilbert Titlist conversions.
Both of my Gilbert conversions are unsigned but they both have half joints.
Hard to tell for sure, if you could provide some additional dimensional and xray data, I might be able to figure it out>>

Follow up

Thank you all for your input/comments so far. Please let me know what additional measurements/data would be helpful in determining the maker.

I became interested in the history and style of the Titlist cue a couple years before I bought this cue. It actually took over a year of searching and looking before I pulled the trigger to buy this one. I was intent on having a Titlist conversion that had truly vibrant veneers. Once I had it and played with it, I was sold. After a few months I decided I wanted to get a couple original Titlist one piece cues. My requirements were:
1 - stunning veneers
2 - one piece Titlist (not the 2 piece Hoppe pro)
3 - Older label in outstanding condition
After MORE THAN 2 YEARS of looking (mostly on Ebay) I found a pair, and that was about 8 years ago.

A couple years ago I finally decided to have one converted by the Phillippi's, and it was completed a couple months ago, pictures can be found in one of my galleries (open to the public).

But back on subject. I will have weights later today, and tip sizes Thursday evening.

Thanks!

Tips

Both shafts are 12.5mm, had Rick Phillippi measure them a couple days ago. Not a ton of new information.

Dangerous question, thoughts on the value of this cue? I have done my homework on what comparable cues have sold for here and on Ebay, so I am aware of an approximate value in my mind.

Thanks!
