Hi...

I'd like to hear some of your opinions regarding the topic...

I'm planning to buy a cheap cues, but i don't know which one is better between PLAYERS and DUFFERIN cues, and Im gonna pair it with a 314^2 and/or OB Classic.

I can go for a $250-$400 cue, but as you can see, there's a possibility of me buying 314^2 Shaft and OB shaft at the same time so I need a cheap, sturdy cue.

and one more thing I prefer Uni-loc so 1 point there for dufferin.. please help

PLAYERS:
1) Good Design
2) Good Cue under $150/$170 according to seyberts

DUFFERIN
1) Looks Common
2) UNI-LOC (it says it all)

my price range is $800

I would say they are about the same quality in general. Since you are putting an engineered shaft on it really does not matter. Pick the one you like.

I would certainly prefer an old used Dufferin over anything Players ever made or anything Dufferin now imports.

Presented with the choice the way you put it, I don't think it makes much difference.

If you are going to spend that much, why would anyone want a Players or Dufferin?

For that much, you can get a Joss, Dale Perry, Lucasi, or a great, like new used cue.

Or...something like this--------------->

Make an offer!

hmmm

Yeah, it's $800

Actually my Initial Plan is Lucasi LC60 + 314^2 shaft or OB Classic...

I Extended it due to the fact than I want to test those two shafts (Buying them both). So I need a cheap sturdy cue.

If I wanted to test each shaft I would either buy an OB or Predator Sneaky Pete and just buy an extra shaft from the other maker to match! They are both quality made cues and the resale on them would be much better if you didn't like it. I bought an OB sneaky pete didn't like it (I'm not an LD shaft kind of guy) and now I use it for a break cue and it breaks really good!

P.S. i wouldn't go the Lucasi route I'd buy a Schon. They are the best made production cue period. I have one I've had for 20 Years and it looks as good and plays as good as the day I bought it.

Hmm, can I ask you something? Well I'll ask anyway, this might be off-topic but. Why Not Lucasi? please elaborate..

is it because it's not made in US?, u see I like cues made in Western country (US) like Viking i know its good even though i've never tested it, i just feel its good... but the design of viking is quite..... lets say not my type... ($300 below)...

For schon, i think its a good cue, but i think its expensive.. but i'll take a look at it.... maybe i'll go for your opinion...
===========================================

the entire scneario is, a possibility of me buying both OB and 314, so that would cause maybe -$600, so i have extra $200 on my cue..

==============================================

well as you've said, uying a sneaky + extra shaft would be great, I'll just sacrifice simple design....

and thank you by the way.

mezz

why not you give mezz cue a try? maybe some thing in the ec7 series, the wd700 shaft hits well too.

Like others above said... For that much money it's best to get a higher quality cue.
