Please help tournament directors

Long story short.

I am a captain of a BCA team and my players want to have a tournament paying out our cash prize from the seasons play. I think its a great idea, the only problem is all of us have different playing styles. They want a variety of games to hopefully show who moves the rock the best. All players must play the following games.

8-Ball
9-ball
Strait pool

My idea is to build either 16 man or 8 man brackets with the 6 of us :confused: and have us do seperate tournaments for each game. I was going to use the following scoring system.

1st place 3 points
2nd place 2 points
3rd place 1 point

The person with the most points is first and second and third.

Do you guys think this will work? Or, is there a better way to do this?

Sounds like fun. It depends on how much time everyone wants to give to the tourney. The best way to really find your winner would be to do a round robin in each event. Keep track of won matches and whoever has the most wins wins :D
 
Round Robin is where everyone plays everyone. You could keep the races short (race to 3 or 5 in nineball) to move things along and just keep track of wins and loses of sets. A simple check beside each winning name after each round would be easy enough. Then when its all over count up the checks :)

Its the best way to find out how everyone stacks up because you cant get the luck of the draw like a regular tournament.
