Mr Manwon, I have often wondered what a definition of a "true splice"cue is for years. Thanks.
In that semi famous u-tube clip of Mr. Szamboti being interveiwed, seems to me, he is using the "V" groove method for inlaying "prongs" (as he called them).
I have seen pictures of two different pieces of wood cut in really weird demensions where they fit together like a jig saw puzzel (ofcourse with/without veneers). Is this what you mean by a true splice??
I think the "milling" out of (like that "How It's Made" episode at the Falcon factory) is criminal!! If I pay several thousand (heck, even a thousand or for that matter over 500.00) for a custome cue I want a true splice!!!
Sooo I guess it is up to the customer ehh? V groove, milling out the points (yuck) or splicing the woods together???
It seems to me I have seen this question posted in the past, i.e. inlay, splice or V groove.
My old sharp pointed Schon hits so much better (to me at least) than the newer rounded over pointed Schons!!!

Thanks Berny...I'm pretty happy with how this cue is turning out...can't wait to get it in the hand!

Thanks Berny...the Tucker plays every bit as good a she looks, and then some. The Helmstetter isn't too shabby either...LoL. I think the new cue, finished by Paul Allers of Whidbey Island, WA will fit in nicely to the group. :yeah:
