Hi guys,

I'd like professional opinions on this Gandy. How does it compare to a GC? It would not be for me (I'd only buy a commercial table). It would be for a non-player that is interested in the game. I just don't want her to buy junk, and the only tables I'm familiar with are commercial tables. Is the price reasonable?

Thanks for your help.

The Gandy home table is well built. Made in the USA. Thick Frames, good wood, good slate. I wouldn't recommend this table to a serious pool player and I don't think you can really compare any home tables to a Gold Crown. Home tables from this era generally come with poor quality cushions and you should check each cushion for hardness. This table probably sold between 3 and 4 grand new. I would say thats a fair price, here in southern CA anyways.

First of all, Gandy didn't sell a pool table with 1 1/4" thick slates. Second, it's a run of the mill table meaning nothing special....was probably bought used in the first place since Gandy has been out of business for several years now...which also means no after market support from Gandy should you need any. $800 tops in my book, because if you add in delivery & set up....that would put you with the asking price...into it about $1,700 to $2,000....and in that range there's a lot of other tables to look at.
