Pocket Adapters

Hello, around 10-15 years ago I saw a set of adapters that fit into the pockets of a regular pool table turning it into essentially a carom table, or if you left the corner pockets open a on pocket table with only 2 pockets. They were metal and adjusted to fit in the pockets and had a rubber bumper that faced the playing surface. The rebound was obviously not exactly the same, I think because the rubber was exposed and not covered in felt so the balls "bit" more. In any event I was wondering if anyone has heard of these. If so please tell me, if you know where to get them or the maker. I have done an exhaustive online search with 0 results they may not make them anymore if they weren't popular I don't know. If anyone can help me with a name or a maker of these contraptions that would be great. Thanks.

Tony - I know what you're talking about but haven't seen anyone supply those in quite a few years. You may start calling some of the antique table dealers around the country or some WELL established retailers to see if by chance they have a set in their display cases they can dust off for you  You might get lucky.....and you might not!

Several suggestions for sources which "might" be able to help you...
www.blattbilliards.com
www.billiardrestoration.com
or
call Brunswick Historian, Joe Newell in Clay Center, KS 785-926-3953
Hope you're able to find what you're looking for at one of these locations.
Good Luck.

RE-Liners

I believe the company you may be referring to is the Bar-Co Products.
One of the products they sold as a pocket reducer was called RE-Liners.
I have attached a picture of a set that I picked up for myself on the forum in this link...
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=62170&highlight=bar-co

I also remember the company offering other products for pool tables but as mentioned that was some 10-15 years ago.
Not exactly sure what happened to the company or products they sold.

If you watch the threads, there are chances that some additional products from Bar-Co will come available and you may find what you are looking for or as mentioned antique stores would be a good start.

Hopefully having the company name helps.
Myron
