Pocket Chalker - I Can't Use All My Chalk!

oh yeah, quarters fit, if i use nickels, pennies or dimes, i can hear them move around

also, i'm always tempted to use them to mark up the race
:D

quarters are a no-no around here as "markers"

now, if kamui has a chalk holder, you might need nickels lol, i dont buy "fun size" chalk though (not a hater, i just like Blue diamond...)

Maybe Jason and Sean should get a room!
I like all the ideas and the custom holders posted here, but my favorite chalk holder is a blond bombshell in a bikini. It distracts the opponent nicely....
All kidding aside, the thing I like best about this site is the brainstorming and willingness to help each other.

i use a cue tech magnetic chalk holder for my kamui chalk. it has 2 open sides so you can change the placement of the chalk when it starts wearing down. that way you can keep the cube square.

btw i just swipe the chalk across the tip after every shot. i have had the same cube for 9 months now and at the rate of wear so far i would say this cube should last me 2 years. i shoot league 3 nights a week and a couple of tournaments a month.

thats a lot of chalking and i have not used a 1/4 of the cube yet.

when i used one i took a piece of chalk i didnt care about and cut 3/4 of the rubber off of the chalk holder with a razor blade and it works perfect for what youre talking about.

Terry:

How about this idea (just call me "Ideas Central" ;) ) -- the combination of a strong rare-earth magnet with a stick-based pocket chalker?

That is, you have the normal stick-based pocket chalker (the one with the stick that inserts in your pocket), the normal couple of links of small chain that comes with it, coupled to a rare-earth magnet that attracts to a disk of ferrous metal glued to the bottom of a cube of chalk? This way, you can wear the chalk down as far as you want, and when it's time to replace it, you just pull it away from the magnet, throw that worn chalk away (including the "disposable" disk of metal glued to the bottom of it), and then replace it with another fresh cube of chalk with a ferrous disk glued onto the bottom of it?

Just tossing around some ideas. I might try that myself.

Great idea! Perhaps you should market it as a Kamui pocket chalker and sell it for $1,295. :D

I have a Porper Chalker which I am very happy with. What I would like to see is pocket chalker that has a matching rubber cap/lid or something so the chalk doesn't get on everything when you're not using it, or when it's stored in your case. I can't believe no one has made this yet. :(

chalker

A facsimile of mine, cut angle, sticky tape bottom, turn as needed...

Could cut off the rubber holder to only come up to 1/4 to 1/2 of the chalk and stick a piece of 2 sided tape in the bottom to make it more secure, that should let you use most of the cube i guess.

I just keep the chalk in my pocket...lol

Just putting it in my pocket works for me.

I use a miter saw when I am low on chalk. I like the idea of coins for spacers, but I am sure if I thought about it long enough I could envision something better for spacers.

When the chalk wears down so much I am too lazy to pull out the miter saw, which is only a few feet from my pood table. I just put the slightly worn chalk on the tabel and replace it in my chalk holder.

Chalk Shark maker is me.......

There have been some very interesting and innovative ideas regarding chalk use, size, and accessibility provided here on these topics. I have spent much time over the past several years attempting to perfect my magnetic chalk holder design and in the process accommodated several requests from fellow players that want full access to their chalk cube from beginning to end when they finally reach the bottom.
My method is similar to the mention of attaching a magnet directly to the bottom of the chalk cube. I use a 3/4" square magnet that is 1/16" thick to provide the desired holding power. A similar magnet that is 1/8" thick is almost too much pull power, but one person preferred this size.
My procedure for actual attachment was to cut away a 1/2" square of the paper from the bottom exposing the porous chalk. I then used Weldwood contact cement and applied a coat to the chalk and allowed it to soak in for a prime coat making sure the paper is included too. Next I check the polarity of the magnet using my Chalk Shark [www.chalkshark.com], marked the magnet for the surface to be attached, apply some contact cement to the magnet, second light coat to the chalk, and allow time [20 minutes] to tack-up, and then position and attach to the bottom. The last step is to tap with rubber mallet to help with adhesion. I am sure there are other adhesives that will work too. I did not have much luck with the Locktite cyno super glue. My phone number is on the specified website, anyone can call, and I will provide any info I have that may be of assistance.
My molded chalk cube holder in my Chalk Shark design allows chalk to be shimmed to desired height using cardboard and various other materials to effect the change in exposing the chalk. At present, there is no substitue for my TWO MAGNET system of holding the chalk magnetically. I make this accessory in my shop using the highest quality materials and craftsmanship shown in the photos on my website.

The cap is made to fit my molded chalk box. It may fit some other chalk cube holders too. I don't sell them separately but will provide one to you free.

Dont use any chalk holder and ull be able to use most of it :D
