I did a search and didn't find these specific questions answered......

Should the rail faces on the corner pockets be parallel to each other or slightly open? If open, how much farther apart at the rail corners/tips versus the back of the pocket?

How far should the slate bed extend into the pocket from the rail corners/tips?

I don't think there is a standard, but wanted professional opinions on the dimensions. Thanks in advance for any information.

I remember a clear plastic template floating around the pool room I played in that had minimum and maximum lines drawn on it...

I think it was from the BCA but I may be wrong.

So to answer the question, standards DO exist; hopefully one of the mechanics will be able to give you the answers you need!
