That 4.25 pocket shown with the blue cloth and the 1&9 ball looks brutal - not only tight at the mouth but the pocket facing angles appear significantly more tapered as well. It's also pretty quick on Google.

4.5 plays real good. They are challenging but fun to play on. No reason to go tighter.Get the ProCuts unless you just want to beat yourself up. Plus if you get 4.125 its another 600+bux.
Yeah, WPA specs say the pocket opening should narrow 3/4” from mouth to throat (front to back of cushion). That looks like more, alright. That 4.25 pocket shown with the blue cloth and the 1&9 ball looks brutal - not only tight at the mouth but the pocket facing angles appear significantly more tapered as well.
Agree with Garczar on this. Solid advice.Get the ProCuts unless you just want to beat yourself up. Plus if you get 4.125 its another 600+bux.
Is that pocket . 4.25?

Looks tighter than that. My spot has a couple GC's at 4&1/8th. that look just like that. Awfully snug. That 4.25 pocket shown with the blue cloth and the 1&9 ball looks brutal - not only tight at the mouth but the pocket facing angles appear significantly more tapered as well.
Unless you're running a 14.1 High run competition with 5" pocket openings, then you want the throat of the pockets to be at least 5" same as the mouth of the pocket, or maybe even a little wider, hate to see a ball missed in the mouth of the pocket ending a runYeah, WPA specs say the pocket opening should narrow 3/4” from mouth to throat (front to back of cushion). Well, yeah... I want the pocket mouths to be 12" wide on my turn but only 4" wide on my opponent's turn... but I doubt I'll ever get that.Unless you're running a 14.1 High run competition with 5" pocket openings, then you want the throat of the pockets to be at least 5" same as the mouth of the pocket, or maybe even a little wider, hate to see a ball missed in the mouth of the pocket ending a run![]()
