Points and Rings

I have noticed some high dollar cues recently and I am wondering if it is just me or others feel the same. Some of the pictures of cues that I have looked at are cues in the $3000.00 and above range. I have noticed that the inlays in the rail road track rings above and below the wrap do not match up with the base of the points nor the tip of the points. If you look at a Bender cue and I have looked at my Searing the colors and points all line up from the butt to the joint of the cue.
I am of the feeling that if I were going to put out the ammount of money that some are seeking for these cues the rings should match. Am i being to fussy or is this something that the rest of you feel is acceptable in a cue.

I expect the ringwork, inlays, etc, to line up throughout. Ringwork at the joint will always have the possibility to "move out of alignment" over time with thread wear in the shaft - I'm not sure that can be avoided.

I suspect this is up to the buyer, some cue makers do not care if they line up or if they don't, and others focus very intensely that everything is lined up to include the cues joint rings.

I personally always line up my ring work to the best of my ability, and in the cues butt there is really no problem doing it permanently. However, in time a cues joint rings will move out of alignment. This will happen as the cues joint breaks in and the facing wears from use, if some one sweats this they can have the cue refaced over time to correct the problem but because of the movement at this location perfect alignment over time is impossible to my knowledge.
