Anyone using a poison cue, (mainly playing ones) bc of the playability alone or mainly bc of budget? How much better does a predator shaft play on a poison butt with poison joint? Worth the upgrade?
Before I decided on my Pechauer Custom Cue I was looking into getting the poison AR1 or AR2. I put enough table time (around 24 hours) in to know that I really like the cue but I liked the Pechauers hit just so much better so I ended up going with that. I haven't used uni-locs very much so I'm not too familiar with how they play but that is all personal preference. If you like the uni-loc joint then I wouldn't replace it until you need to. The best thing you can do is go into a billiards store and get as much table time with the cue your interested in as possible. Best luck on your search for the golden cue.

Poison and Predator are part of the same company, Mike Dechaine had a Poison cue and I asked him about it because at that time he was sponsored by Predator.
A Predator shaft will not play better on a Poison butt than on any other butt really. Once you stick an after market shaft on a cue you have a Predator cue with a fancy holder behind it. The joint does make a difference in feel so if you like how the Poison style joint feels, get it.
