Hello, this is my 1st post on this forum. This forum is loaded with info and pics, and I like it a lot.

Anyway, I am in the market for a new jump break cue and 1st on my list is the Poison VX 2.9. Anyone who owns this cue care to comment on how it plays, would you recomend it? I don't want to spend $300+ on a BK2 or Jerico stinger. Around $200 is good.

I'm not familiar with the poison jump/break, but you might want to read the threads here on phenolic tips. It seems that the BCA has banned them, and it looks like other leagues will follow.

Dunno if I'd want to buy a phenolic tipped Jump/break until this all gets sorted out.

A few weeks ago i started a thread for jump cues becuse im in the market . You just have to be carful on what you by becuse of what pwd's72 about the ban. Good luck..

Hello,

My friend owns one and loves it. I have jumped with it and find it effortless in comparison to some others, including my own. He posts here and I'm sure he would recommend it to you. However I do agree with the other lads in regards to the BCAL ban on Phenolic and maybe wanting to hold out. I'm sure you could change the tip to a very hard leather and it will still wield good results, or so we hope  The VX is a good one for the price.

If it's a budget concern, I would seriously concider the J&J Jump/Break. I know members to have offered around $60 new here often, and I just stomp the rack with mine.

If you're looking for just purely the review, hell, if it's good enough for Oscar.... I've been told the playability is good, even though it feels more on the cheaply constructed side. On close inspection at my pool hall the other day, the edges on the rubber seemed frayed and lightly glued or something, sprayed crooked logo, the joint at the jump handle off center slightly. Of course this says nothing about the hit, but it could suggest the overall construction and life of the cue.

If I could find one used, in the right price range, I'd move on it. The rubber seems to collect a lot of dirt from what I can tell.

2 cents.

With regards to the above mentioned J&J Jump/Break cue. I Can't speak for the one above but my J&J Jump/Break has a Phenolic Tip, so if your playing in league you may want to stay away from phenolic as previously mentioned.

With regards to the Poison VX 2.9, it comes with a Sarin Tiger tip as seen here,

This is the jump/break cue I am considering as well. Hope this helps.

poison jump break

I have the poison jump break in black and white. I love it and the phenolic was fine but I put a samsara jump break leather tip on it and it jumps and breaks the same! The samsara is just better control and holds chalk way better.

Yeah if it's price i agree on a J&J

I also have a few friends that break with that cue. It is one ugly cue but hits like a monster. I see his wife smoke racks with that cue.

A buddy of mine has one. Its ugly as hell, but its well made and the hit is solid.

Granted, it's no Schon, but I understand the look. It's obviously targeted at a younger audience.

I couldn't help hitting some balls with one and thought it played pretty solid considering the tip felt like hitting concrete.

I have 2 of them cues are . Great pm me. I m getting a custom cue need too move one or both .
