Polishing Aluminum for my current Brunswick Anniversary restoration.

Aluminum castings

From my experience....you should clear coat them. An old poolroom I used to hang out in had tables with aluminum castings and a protective strip around the perimeter of the rails. If you leaned up against the metal for a few hours in a match it would leave black streaks on your jeans right at the thighs. Just a thought...........

Powder Clear has been a consideration.

Powder Coat Clear has been a consideration and my only concern is it turning yellow over time. I have been told anything like a POLY will eventually crack & peel. Which then all of the parts need to be stripped again and repolished. I have also considered having the parts nickel plated, there is a post( http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=312123&page=3 ) with a GORGEOUS table and he had his nickel plated. I tell anyone who I sell an Anniversary this: Its like a car/motorcycle with chrome or polished aluminum and when you use it you must clean it. Simi-Chrome and Mothers are great for protecting the finish.
