Polishing Balls

I have a set of Super Aramith Pro's that were in desperate need of a cleaning and polishing, so I gave them a good wash in the sink with warm soapy water, and then out to my lathe which was equipped with a 9" polishing pad, and I gave this stuff a try.....

I found it worked VERY well, and brought them up to a beautiful luster again.
Just thought I'd share, and see if anyone else has used this stuff...

I've never used the plastic polish, but I can imagine how good it would work seeing as how I am very familiar with the car restoration business.

But when it comes to polishing balls, I guess I'm old fashioned and cheap(read frugal...LOL!). I first clean them with plain old rubbing alcohol and a terry cloth towel......then I take plain old fashioned white toothpaste(something like plain non-gel Crest) and rub it on the ball with my fingers till it turns black from dirt and grime, then polish dry with a terry cloth towel. Not only will you see a crystal clear reflection of yourself...you balls are now protected from cavities and will smell minty fresh when they go in the pockets!

Seriously...the toothpaste works VERY well!!!!

Very interesting. After all, toothpaste is simply a very very mild abrasive. I imagine it does a great job of cleaning balls.

We use one of the machines... it works great and is pretty fast. It's a ball star... I can't believe they cost 400ish bucks now but it's always been perfect. Only drawback is that I heard if you forget the polish liquid it might scorch or leave a scuff on the ball. That and the cost.
