So I'm curious I don't want any politics talks I just want an answer to this question. But let's say you went to a pool hall and there were signs saying let's go Brandon. That phrase let's go Brandon also means to F Joe Biden. That happened to me tonight. I went to a pool hall and there were several signs That said that. And I'm just curious if you would be giving The Establishment your money if they had signs like that that showed their political beliefs? For me is that was the only issue I really wouldn't care. But with the other issues I've had with this place in how the management runs it. It almost would be.

I don't know why a pool hall would have those signs. I would not give them a penny for being such unwelcome partisan asses. But I assume this was in Trump Country, so like my Repub friends in Trump Country where I grew up, they think everyone thinks like that in their bubble. It's just one reason they can't accept that Biden won, no one they know voted for him. They don't realize those who did knew to be quiet about it, or they'd be harassed.

During the pandemic, the owner of my pool hall went on Newsmax a couple of times to discuss his unhappiness with forced business closures in NYC. He was a bit partisan in kissing up to the horribly biased anchors, but I understand he was just looking for an audience to discuss his grievances, and the local news wasn't giving him the time, so he went there. I don't have a problem with that. He keeps politics out of the pool hall. It's just about pool. And sometimes booze. Like it should be. All are welcome and feel welcome.

Nope. I’m tired of every turn i take these people are blaming those people. If I can’t escape all of life’s bs at the poolroom then I’ll stay home or go somewhere else.
And the political signs don't say anything with more insight than "that other guy sucks." If it was "vote yes on measure X and pave our roads" I wouldn't mind so much.

I went to a bar that had a sign "we salute the flag, support our troops, blah blah, if that offends you, leave." Those things don't offend me but the insinuation that they might does offend me.

Yeah …who gives a shit.

I don't let someone else's thoughts bother me. I may agree with the owner's choice of political parties but he's a bit of an idiot in how he expresses it and how he makes it public.

How I would react, if at all, would depend on a lot of things.

I know one thing for sure. I wouldn't need a forum of knuckleheads to tell me how to deal with it.

Sounds like this poolroom wants a non inclusive atmosphere.
If the owner of the poolroom makes you feel uncomfortable then vote with your feet
as you would with any other business establishment that rubbed you the wrong way.
It's the owners business and he may promote his establishment any way he choses to.
It is your choice to fund that business or not.

Meh, I'm an anarchist, (a voluntaryist specifically) so all political discourse is gross and beneath me. I've played pool in plenty of rough places though, so it would be no bother to play where partisan voting cattle (of either flavor) frequent.

We've all played in rough places.
Never met a voluntaryist.
Had to look it up.
Nice to meet you.

Who gives a crap what they think. If the pool is worth it to you, play there. If it's not, don't. I can't wait for the day (although I'll probably never see it in my lifetime) that people stop caring about politicians as much as they do.

For the OP.

Some people don't like guns so they don't buy them. Some don't like guns and it's their belief that no other American should own one.

You may not like the signs, do you demand they take them down? Would you also demand that Hollyweird take all politics out of the movies? How about Madogga? Would you force her to stop talking about politics? Were you ok with her pretending to blow up the White House?

Once again, politics have reached the front page and all I have done is respond.

You stated that you didn't want politics and went right into politics, let me guess, you voted for ____________

I play a lot of golf and see the same thing on private golf carts. I refuse to play with those people regardless of who their supporting or attacking. I do have to admit I still have my bumper sticker from 1968 Vietnam days when Johnson and McNamara were lying about the war which read “Where is Lee Harvey Oswald now that we really need him”.

Anyone who hangs signs like that in their poolhall is a POS. However, I would still go to the pool hall if I wanted to play and it was the most convenient option. I would just have much less respect for the owner.

I'd still go. It's a bit cringe, and maybe implies the owner's a bit obnoxious to ram it down everyone's throats, but in the grand scheme of things, so what? Besides, mixing with different people, with different outlooks, is one of the nice things about pool. And discussing ideas with people you disagree with can teach you a lot.

It would tell me your pool room is run by toddlers.

Who cares what someones political beliefs are. Half the people didn't like Trump and half don't like Biden. Do you only want to play pool with those who are politically correct? This one is not worth worrying about unless maybe Joe is your brother or dad or something.

Don't want any religious answers to this, but if you had to choose between Jesus and Mahomet to be your teammate in APA, who would you pick and why?
