I scratch my head when I see pros like Karen Corr set the butt of her stick on the ground and then hold the ferrule with her bridge hand while chalking, getting all the chalk dust on her hand.
 
After dying my brand new shaft powder blue, I have switched to chalking with my back hand only, holding the chalk like a hair from my soup.
