Ooops, the poll is closed. You lost. Sorry. Try again next year when the rules committee convenes.

For what it's worth if you REALLY care about seeing high level pool without jump cues and without jump shots (because the safeties are THAT strong) you should go to www.theactionreport.com where two of the world's best are going head to head for the next two days. They just finished day one and the guy who was behind all day closed out the sesson on 4" pockets with a seven run outs.

Maybe you don't break hard enough. The pros jump balls off the table on the break far more often than on jump shots. If you have never seen them do it, you haven't watched enough pool.

If someone has moderate skill with kick shots balls get rearranged in an expected manner or close to it. Jump shots rearrange the table in a completely random manner sort of like throwing a volleyball at the table.

No, jump shots are very controllable, even for amateurs, not enough people put in the time to learn them because they are stuck in the past complaining about jumps instead of actually playing.

It isn't a very good argument in favor of jump shots if there are only two players in the world who can control a jump shot that well. And, in any case, it still looks like a circus trick.

Maybe you just aren't good enough to appreciate the intricacy of well executed jumps if you think they are all circus tricks. Just like the banger who thinks his opponent got lucky when he kicked at a ball and left him hooked.

If they're that good at jumps why can't they kick?

Hmm...Make the ball, get shape and run out or kick at a ball get safe and let your opponent back to the table. Its a tough decision, but I will go for the option that doesn't let my opponent back to the table.

I guess there's no exaggeration too excessive when following the herd is the objective.

Would the rules committee you're referring to be a rules committee established by a pool organization funded by pool equipment manufacturers?
