it is kinda easy but making the spider chase the bug rule (must go into same pocket as the bug) or only in certain pockets (side or corners), or just increasing the number of bugs makes it more challenging and fun.

SPIDER can be handicapped by restricting the number of pockets allowed for more skillful players to pocket the Spider ball.
An example would be that a lesser player could pocket the spider in any pocket while the better player could only use the corner pockets for a kill point.

I don't mean it as a handicap, I meant it as a general rule change to make the game more challenging for both players

I agree with you that the game could be more challenging than what it is. Try to pocket the Spider against an opponent using the same hole as the last Bug ball. It's a marathon.

The game plays as a basic recreational game to accommodate players of ALL skill levels. How it is actually played is up to the individual. You can restrict certain pockets for the Spider from both players or easily handicap the game by restricting certain pockets from the better player. Your choice.

The rules were designed for the majority of the "middle of the road" players to keep it enjoyable for all, but can be made more challenging if needed.

Thanks for your input.

i've even played an easier version with some newer players where they don't have to go in order but I did, or I had to get more (like 1p handicaps), and it was a nice change from 8 ball. it encourages them to learn to set a little more than having a lot of options in 8 ball.

I'm looking for your input on the game of *SPIDER* that was recently posted.
If you have tried the game would you please vote in the poll.
Thanks.

An option for two players, with both having a higher skill level, would be to only allow the Spider to pocket in a corner immediately after a bug ball pockets.

If the attempt in the corner should fail, the Spider could then be pocketed by either player in any pocket for a kill point.

Good safety plays could result in winning the game.
