A large percentage of the polled players admit to having the addiction in varying degrees with a lot of us in the upper range.

Seriously, I owe the smokers a lot of thanks. After years away from it I can't stand smoke, actually allergic to it. As a result I don't make the every evening stop to play "a few games of pool" on the way home anymore. Once I almost always did before going home, eating a bite, and going out to play pool! I'd be a regular at the local bars and pubs even though I don't drink if it weren't for the smoke.

If I could play close to pro level, or even consistently the way I sometimes play, then I would be much more addicted I think. But I go through down times when I don't play for months or maybe once or twice a month. I think I get frustrated and need breaks from playing, lol but even when I don't play, I watch it on TV, tapes, and in person.

I actually went 10 years without playing much at all, maybe a few times out with friends when they wanted to play.

My real addicted is computers/internet, and it takes WAYYYYY TOOOO much of my time away, I hate this blasted internet, and now I found pool on ustream?!?! It started with the last DCC which I couldn't stop watching, I tried, but I found myself watching until I had to get up the next day, Oh yeah, I really wish I hadn't found that. lol

I should really be doing work right now...
