pool and your significant other

I have two young boys at home, so it would be selfish of me to go out more then I do. I suppose in about 15 years when they are grown and out of the house I will be able to play as much as I want, but by then I wont be able to play worth a crap.

Been there, done that. Believe it or not, I went through even LESS playing time than you are when I was raising my young 'uns. Be patient my friend, your day will come. When the boys grow up and leave home, you're gonna miss 'em something fierce. But then there will be time to get "out" more and do the things you want to. If it is any consolation to you, at age 53 I am shooting better now than I ever have in any time during my life. You probably will too someday when you can devote more time to it.

My wife will play at home in the basement, but hates it if I "take it easy" on her or play left-handed for a handicap. She's not very good, but we have a good time when we play.

I took her to a WPBA event for the semi/finals 2 years ago and she absolutely loved it. I just ordered the tickets earlier this week for us to attend for the 3rd year in a row.

I needed a co-pilot when making a weekend run to the DCC in 2006 and she went along. She wasn't into staying up all night to watch the action, but she enjoyed seeing the players and the rest of the torunament.

I play in some local leagues and she doesn't have a problem with that. She usually schedules something to do those nights since she knows I won't be home.

you have a good wife, keep her close:)

I've been married for 36 years. My wife and I play in a Wednesday night VNEA league on separate teams. I play A division she plays Womens B's.
Every year my family goes to the VNEA Nationals at the Riviera. That is our yearly vacation. My whole family plays all the local big VNEA tournaments here. My son plays on my team and my daughter plays on my wife's team. We have a table at home so we only go out on league night. Pool has never caused a problem in our family. In fact I think it keeps us all close together
