Pool APP Question for Programmers

Aloha,

I was wondering how hard it would be to create an app that showed an overhead view of a pool table and allowed you to place balls on the table and the app would figure out the angle of the cue ball coming off the object ball and rails.

Additionally, the app would show the rail spots and would show the reaction of the cue ball as it traveled around the table without the effect of English...it would show the natural angle and path the ball traveled.

This app would allow a player to simulate a shot on the real table and be able to see the natural angle and then know if it was too short or long and could use English accordingly.

I think this would be a good teacher to teach people who weren't geometry experts.

I don't know how far this got, but someone had a good start on what I think you're looking for....

Thank you. I'd forgotten about that...maybe that is what gave me the idea. I never saw it progress beyond that stage...but that took a lot of work.

I was hoping they had it all calculated out now where the program would do it for you...they are still in the quasi-manual mode.

Aloha.
