Pool Ball Collecting.

My son is in the Air Force and I was going to get a military themed set of balls for my pool room. All I can find is the Aramith camo set. Any other ideas?

Hello, Mr L.

Always a pleasure to welcome a new name to the Pool Ball Collecting thread, sir.

Vigma offer a specialist military set. K2kraze has showcased them once or twice on this board, accompanied by his customary excellent description.

Alas, my thread index of post #1 has temporarily disappeared, dear chap, but somebody will be along shortly to point you in the right direction.

Best wishes.

These strange 65.5mm Carom balls have just arrived on my doorstep. When joined with a red and two cue balls, the korean card/billiard game "6 Ball" is what you get.

I'm thinking that the black zero ball might be fun to mix into other carom games. Shooter's cue ball ever touches the black, their score is reset to ZERO.

Measles Balls.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.

Does anyone know if 2.25 inch versions of the yellow or red measle balls were ever made? I’m only aware of the larger carom sizes.

Thanks, Bob.

I enjoy watching English Billiards every now and again. It’s a very skilful game in my view. I used to know a fellow called Norman Dagley many moons ago who was an extremely good player,,, a world champion if memory serves.

Guinness 250. Insert Card 15.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen.

Here is a screenshot of the latest insert card, part of an ongoing project to record the historical provenance of my treasured billiard ball collection. If anyone is interested to learn a little more about the camera technique employed to counter lens distortion, or how I drew the computer generated image at the base of the card, please refer back to the original post (number 1133).

Best wishes,

RC.

A set of these Guinness Anniversaries in the small 1.875 inch size sold for a very surprising £147 today in the United Kingdom. The highest figure I have seen.

I believe one of the reasons for such lofty prices lately could be Guinness’s sponsorship of several high profile sports events like the Six Nations rugby.
