Pool Ball Collecting.

A couple months ago I read through this whole thread and it's triggered my ball collecting to a new level. Thanks Rubik's for starting it, I learned a lot from all the years of discussion.

I picked up this set of Tru-line Pearce Simpson poker balls , missing the red "J" and black stripe "Q"
2-1/4” running in the 170's grams.
I'm wondering if anyone has them and is willing to sell so I can complete the set.
I'm also wondering if there is supposed to be two Jokers?

Thanks
Robert

Hello, Robert.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through the entire thread, sir. I am heartened indeed that you found it entertaining and informative.

I will keep my eyes peeled for the two Tru Line balls you need, dear chap… they do appear sometimes so don’t give up hope. I stand to be corrected, but believe your set was originally sold with just a single blue joker.

Best wishes.

I’ve found someone in San Jose with the Club Queen ball you need, Robert.

He is selling a mixed lot of balls, including the queen. Perhaps contact him, sir, and ask if he will sell a single ball?

Thanks a bunch, I hate to join Facebook for a ball but it might just be time to break down.🫣

Just purchased what I believe is a set of Brunswick Centennial balls, but instead of the usual cue ball it has all white 8 ball!!

There is on set on eBay that I'm looking at.
One interesting thing about this particular VIGMA set is the poor finish. It is interesting because in general, VIGMA balls maintained a good gloss with little effort over much playing time. This set, uniquely, seems to dull the finish quickly and in some cases irreversibly. Not sure if it was a change in formula or process, but just a note on the long term playability of the set. Also interested if others have noticed this phenomena with this particular set?

Hello, gentlemen.

There is a 1989 Cardball v2 set on eBay (not mine).

Bidding currently stands at $1,905 with five days remaining in auction.

That's insane...

Damn lucky to have gotten my set for a fraction of that...

On a side note, holy shit, is that eBay seller selling a ton of ivory balls on eBay. So much for their "No Ivory" policy...

The Cardball v2 set could go yet higher, Mr B, because the current high bidder has raised his reserve bid.

Regards the ivory ban on eBay, sir… I have reported countless infringements and eBay have totally ignored me every single time. I will carry on regardless because it is an issue close to my heart.

I was watching those balls also. It was $850 a couple hours ago. Someone must really want them.

I understand the Ivory ban thing, but would that not be pre-ban Ivory? I haven't paid too much attention to this conversation because I don't collect Ivory balls. Not looking to get into a debate over it, just curious if they would be considered pre-ban items.
