Anyone try this little baby, I have and think it is one of the best ideas for stroke tuning made.

The U-tubes shows it in action.

It's on e-bay.

At first glance, it looked stupid. Then I thought, "eh, maybe it could be useful". Then I realized that indeed, it is stupid. I don't seem any benefit over using an "aiming" cue ball (you know the one... with the 2 sides of quadrants, beginner and advanced).
The disadvantages:
you must have your own table (or look like an idiot at a hall)
it looks cheap, easily breakable
in pool you are hitting round objects, not pieces of plastic
at lastly, it doesn't past the idiot/common-sense test... it looks dumb, therefor it is!

That's my 2 cents :)

edit: the video gave me a chuckle... so it was definitely worth watchin!!

If you want a poor stroke then this is the baby. Not the worst I've ever seen, but close....SPF=randyg

Could you explain your reasoning please?

I too would like the explanation randyg, have you personally tried the device?

I had the opportunity to try the unit, and it imho is about the only thing out there that does what it does. Where you can stroke the first target, and second target on the same plain.

I understand it was at the BCA Expo, and many who tried the unit liked it!

I have not tried it but I would not dismiss it. It actually looks very interesting to me.

I do have Doug Carter's Stroke Trainer that I bought several years ago and was very pleased with its results. This is the original aluminum trainer that guided your stroke arm. One thing that I never liked about it, was that you couldn't really aim at a specific part of the cueball.

With this plastic CueStroke training aid, you can aim at a specific spot on the "2d cueball" during your warm up strokes, and then actually follow through like you would in a real game.

I've seen a "drill" where you practice stroking (lol) into a pill bottle. I think this would have the same effect. The point is that for a good stroke, you shouldn't hit the sides. I'm not engineer, but I bet you could figure out a way to raise it off the table for center (more for follow). If your a masochist maybe you could find an old-style coke bottle. You can mail for a check for the money you saved....

On a side note: my buddy and I thought I made the best invention idea when I thought of incorporating a laser-pointer into the tip of a stick. I was the smartest man alive until I saw one a few weeks later at a local billiards/hot tub store (what a combo!). It really sucks to realize someone is stealing your thoughts and making money off it...
And as you can imagine, the laser-pointer stick looked kinda silly, that musta been the worst tip/ferrule ever!

edit: 65 dollars to boot!! Now that is funny...

Yes, I own one..........randyg

The device is BASED on the length of follow through per shot. SOFT-MEDIUM-FIRM. Length of follow through doesn't have much to do with our game. Quality yes, length....no.....randyg
