Guys like John Schmidt, Gabe Owen, SVB, and Corey Dueul are bringing a newer more professional image to the American pool scene and I only wish them all the best. I was lucky enough to get the match between Chris Bartram and Gabe Owen and John did commentary for a while and the insight he shared about the tough diamond table and the class he showed after losing the nail biter match against Danny Harriman was priceless.
Thanks John and good luck in everything you do in the future, come see us in Kansas City some time
Thanks for that article, it was my dads pool hall were John first started playing back then. John could have been a pro golfer, he used to hold the course record at Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville as a teenager. John was one of the guys who you just knew could be a great player from the start, and he worked hard to get where he is. I've seen a lot of guys who picked up the game quicker than John, but nobody worked harder at than him.
