Pool & Comic Art

Okay, okay-
Here’s a teaser.
But just one😉
Tom Richmond is a superb caricature artist - and artist for Mad magazine. I have a good friend Chance Wolf who inked for Todd McFarlane (Spawn), Jim Valentino (Shadowhawk), and recently helped out Rob Liefeld on a Snake Eyes book. I think your idea is great. Just keep it simple. Share the art and stories. Great idea. I help a friend out in his comic book store....comic book people won't care about pool - but they'll like your book simply because of the subject matter. It will be a novelty and interesting. Nothing more/nothing less. The problem "may" come with getting permissions from the artists to publish their work in your book.

Outstanding!

I’m so glad that you have an in depth connection to the comic art world

.comic book people won't care about pool

Very true.
However, there is a plan in the works that tackles that point😉

I anticipate there may be some objections (Alex Ross was one)

The best I can do is ask and respect their wishes.

There are some covers like this. Mike Shamos probably has a bunch of them.

I think those would be better as prints for the wall than in a book. If in a book maybe a general "pool art" or something that includes other art with a pool/billiards theme instead of just these custom prints. Would be nice to see a history of drawings, who did them, for what publication. I'm sure the Playboy artists and magazines had several things with billiards in them, history of those drawings, things like that.

Yeah, Alex Ross probably requires a BIG fee to publish his work, and...he's earned it. One of the best! Yep, all you can do is try to sell each one on that permission. I suspect the majority will be fine with it.
