Some motherf#$%@r walked into my apartment and stole my cue case today---ON THANKSGIVING!!! They got a 59" bocote Zyler (my baby) and a scruggs sneaky pete. I am about to cry. I plead with anyone on this board that has acces to a zyler for sale to PLEASE send me a PM ASAP and let me know what you want for it. I need to replace it as it is the best cue I have ever touched. I wasn't ever going to have to buy another cue again......I liked it that much. Dirty, rotten, no good sums of bitc@#$!!!! I don't understand it.........stereo, computer, drum set, TV, tons of good stuff here, and ALL THEY TOOK WERE TWO POOL CUE CASES (one empty)!!!! Man, this sucks. Man this sucks, man this SUCKS.......Again, please let me know if anyone has a ZYLER (JC, you out there?) Also if anyone has a scruggs sneaky pete, I am your man. Let me know, please. Man this sucks..........yup, it SUCKS. I would say I feel better now, after venting, but I don't. Did I mention how much it SUCKS to be me right now?
Sorry for the public ranting cry babyism.

Peace
~DC

Dave, sorry to hear that.
I'll do what I can to find a Z around here.
If I see your cues turn out on some other sites, I'll let you know.

Has anybody seen or heard from Big Jon recently? Oooohhh....I know what you're thinking...you're thinking that Big Jon might have been in on this and that I was insinuating it. NOPE. But He might be able to turn up a lead also.
Happy T, Jon.

Crawdaddio, you're one of the good guys on here. Hate to hear of your misfortune on a day of Thanks. :( What a bummer.....

1. File a Police Report, as the VALUE of your Cues in MOST STATES, Equals FELONEY Burglary

2. Check local Pawn Shops for you Cues, if located call the Police.

3. Check local Pool Playing Places, if located call the Police.

Hope you have photos of your Cues should you local them to assist the Police with property recovery, and prosecution of the P.O.S. who RIPPED YOU OFF.

Good luck..... :(

Its more than likely someone you know, who knew where you lived, knew the cues were there, how much they were worth, and also knew you wouldnt be there, and needed the cash. Think of that and you might have a few suspects. Also, just ask around telling people you want to buy some sticks. Someone my say something like "I know someone trying to sell some."
Just a long shot but I got mine back that way.

Crawdaddio, i am so sorry for your loss, and lets hope that you won't be at a loss for long. I'm sure it'll turn up.

And happy thanksgiving to anybody that happens to read this thread.

And i'm pretty sure that Crawdaddio would like to "Give Something" (and it sure as hell wouldn't be thanks...) to one sorry sumbiatch... I'll hold 'em for ya.

Thanks,

Jon

P.S. Hey, as a matter of fact... Where the hell has Zim been???  :p ;) :D

Renters or homeowners insurance should cover it. Just get a replacement value receipt, if you don't have the original receipt and turn it in to claims.

Apparently someone, most likely that you know is the perp. They knew what they wanted and where to get it. After the shock is over, you will be able to think clear to who may of done this.

It's a real shame, especially today. Sorry about your loss.

At the recent U.S. Open, North Carolinean Young Gun Sam Monday's cue was stolen. He was sick about it. He put the word out about the theft, and at Q-Masters pool room, nearby the Open venue, he spotted a fellow shooting with his cue. He asked him about it, and the guy said he had just bought it off somebody. Sam had to pay this guy to get his cue back, but at least he got it back.

I would suggest printing a flier with a picture of the cue stick, stating a reward is being offered, with no questions asked. If you place the flier in every single pool room in your area, it may be a long shot, but Crawdaddio's beloved cue stick just may turn up! :)

I'm hurting for you right now, and I'm not kidding. You loved that Zylr! If that happened to me I would go berserk, just f-ing lose it completely and god help the douche bag who made off with my cues.

Pray for the cue to return, and pray also that you catch up with the mf!

It's worth a try to submit the claim, but I'm not so sure they'll pay. I asked the insurance agent that handles my homeowners insurance about cues and he said that I would need a special "rider" on my policy to cover them separately. It was going to cost around a $100 bucks a year extra. (this was for more than just 2 cues)

Think had the Police got Involved the New Owner would have been happy to Give it up for FREE, or Face Charges of Reveiving Stolen Property.

Thanks to all for your sympathies, it is much appreciated.

First---The door was unlocked(don't ask why) so I guess it was partailly my own da@# fault.
Second---I didn't have any kind of insurance that would cover them.
Third---I don't think it was anyone that knows me and my cues, simply because there is only a pretty small poolplaying community here (Champaign\Urbana, IL) and I can't think of anyone that knows where I live that would do this to me.
Fourth---It also seems odd that if someone (a theif or punk kid) was just checking doors to try to steal something that they would try mine. I live on the third floor up a rickity set of wooden steps. It just doesn't make sense.

All I know is that my cues are probably gone forever, and I need to try to replace 'em. So again, if anyone has a line on a Zyler or a Scruggs sneaky, PLEASE let me know.

JC--Would you please PM me with Kerry's phone # and email addy, I seem to have lost 'em.~~~Thanks

Thanks again everybody

Damn ! Sorry to hear about your stolen cues, crawdaddio !!

My friend got his oldie Meucci stolen a few years ago from our club and the owner printed pics of the cue and sent them to all pool rooms in the area and also bars with pool tables emphasizing the fact that it was one-of-a-kind in Finland & Norhern Europe. The cue magically reappeared in our club after two months, someone found it in the cue rack... The thief apparently thought it couldn't be used anywhere, because the wide "stolen cue" -paper coverage in the area so he/she returned it.

I'd say you might even offer to drop the charges if the thief returns the cues and maybe offer a small reward.

Isn't Western Illinois University there? Where theres a school, theres potential. Start looking around their student lounges. Ask questions. Ask about the "better" players and their cues.
