as most of you probably know, i sold my table in anticipation of a move to florida but circumstances dictated a delay. so to get my pool fix, i strapped my cue to my harley and rode to a local bar where they have six oversize 8' tables. i gave the man my license and he gave me a set of balls. i got to the table and realized i had no chalk. i went back to the bar and he handed me a piece of Sportcraft chalk. this is the same slippery shit that they have at walmart. i wasn't happy but thought i'd try it. i scuffed my tip well, chalked up and tried a basic draw shot. immediately i felt the cue slip under the ball. that was the extent of my pool fix. i gave the bar tender back the balls and left. he understood NOT the nature of my discontent.
has anyone else had any experience with sportcraft chalk? when i first tried it i thought; "how bad can it be, it's chalk right?"
