Pool Haiku

This is inspired from a league night a few weeks ago where one of my players arrived with a few pages of haiku poems that he had written for fun. This got our whole team into writing some pool-themed haikus for the evening. I thought it might be fun to see what the AZB community might come up with for a pool haiku.

For those who don't know what a haiku is, it is a 3-line poem where lines 1 and 3 have 5 syllables and line 2 has 7 syllables. Here is a haiku to get things started:

Balls roll all over
Pockets accept moving spheres
Cloth covers the slate

I'll give you the eight
race to seven, for fifty
you're going to lose

-s

/quick n dirty

I see the ghost ball
A cut shot with no english
Damn I scratched again

Is it called “bill-yards”
or is it called “bill-ee-ardes”
tough to write Haiku

Beautiful physics:
perfect paraboloid path.
F**king table roll.

OR maybe

Don't choke don't choke don't---
AAAAAGH! I missed the money ball.
One air barrel left.

OR

I smell a runout.
Ball on the snap, perfect spread.
Just don't screw this --- D'OH!

OR

I could do some work
or I could post on AZ.
Which one always wins?

Hey, these are pretty good. I notice some ppl are a bit lax on the syllable count, but it's the right spirit!

Pool steps up to play
Snaps three on break, good setup
Damn! Dogs nine again

Here's mine

I got a new cue
Wonder if I'll play better
Can't make a damn ball!

or

Let's race to seven
He just thinks he has the nuts
I'm out like a light!

Brian in VA - hasn't written haiku since the 4th grade...on a stone tablet:D

Cue ball off the one
nine ball swiftly disappears
care uhm or ka-rome?

A play on the way I heard the word carom pronounced once, on an instructional video tape.

Haikus From an APA Barbox

Cue feeling sticky
Talcum snowstorm on the felt
Summer time 8 ball

Fiberglass cuetecs
slamming spheres across the felt
loose pockets slop counts
