pool Hall Bullies-advise to the new&young players

Speaking of advice...a friend of mine got his face busted in with a 2 x 4 as he came out of a bar one night in Louisville after playing a couple of guys for a couple bucks. He's never been the same mentally since. It ain't worth it.

very good advice

Several times I was swollowed by a bunch of guys that wanted to play a ring game. I think its understandable that players that want to gamble most offten choose table that is occupied by most of the customers anyway. I remember when I was working at High Pockets in Memphis that was table 4, which was closed to the bar and all the employes and top players used to play on this table. After a while regular ball bangers won't even bother to rent this table knowing whats coming.

Of course they are criminals if they attack you, but what if they dont? And what if they ask you really politely, i.e. "Pardon me kind sir, but this gentleman and myself have agreed that we would only like to play each other for $10,000 on this particular table. Would you mind letting us use it, and we will pay your table time for you?" :D
In that case, the fireman or animal control hauls em in.

The term is...

Tushhog...the pool dictionary version of bully. I personally never been "tushed" before but then again I suppose its my overall girth that helps me with that!!!

I went through a lot of shit from the players in the area that I grew up in... they talked so bad about me... to hear it told, I had slept with every pool player w/in a 100 mile radius. This of course wasn't the case. I just happend to be a skinny, attractive, single 18 yr old that wouldn't give them the time of day. (I still won't give them the time of day but I'm not a skinny attractive 18 yr old anymore so I doubt I would have that problem today :p ). As bad as they talked about me... they were always nice to my face.
Timberly,

Are you talking about me again? :D

And just to let you know....it was a 200 mile radius  :D

j/k

Table #4 is my favorite table in High Pockets, Memphis.
My point was how dare these guys behave in such a manner. They do not own that table.
These bullies remind me of a CHILD MOLESTER I met when I was in a state Penitentiary. He used to argue with me saying that he has CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to have SEX WITH CHILDREN.These bullies must be feeling that they have right to that table.

Hi,
First time I heard that word was from my friend Reed Pierce from Mississippi.

I have never experienced a bully for a table. I have given up a table
for a serious money game before. I have obtained a table before from
someone just fooling around, either by paying for the time, and/or by
buying them a round of drinks. Most people that have been around Pool
for a length of time, and know who the 'players' are will usually move to
another table for you. Sometimes, like in one place, money players prefer
not to play close to where Karaoke is going on. Nothing like some off tune
yokel singing to ruin your shot.... I say that seriously, those people should
be forced to listen to a recording of themselves before getting up and singing.

On another note, 1 thing that irritates me is the bravado of several people
to challenge a 9 ball challenge table to play for NOTHING, when they have
been there watching players play for $10 or $20 a game, and there are usually 3-4 players that are in the money challenge game. Used to be that
if you weren't willing to play for table stakes, you did not put your quarters
up to challenge. It is EXTREMELY rude to interrupt the flow of a challenge
money game going on, and besides the ones that want to play for free
never can shoot with a hoot anyway. I was playing on the 9 ball table
one evening for $10 a game with 4 other guys, and had held the table for
a few games, when this girl puts her quarters in, and I tell her we are playing
for $10 a game. She says, "oh, I just want to play for free". So I tell her,
"Listen, we have a money game going on, and I will play you for either
money or sex, and you get to chose which one." She quietly removed
her quarters and went and sat down like she should have to begin with.

I take offence to the YOKEL part of this statement!!! :D J/K
