I'm heading to Irvine in a few weeks what pool halls are near to play and gamble a little?

Come in to Danny K`s in the city of Orange. Ask for Fernie the tournament director, He'll find someone for you to play. There are several guys who will play cheap 9 ball, 10 ball or 1 pocket. My name is Mike. Tell Fernie you know me from AZB.

Not much right in that area. Danny K's is your best bet for a little action but a slightly longer drive (30 minutes) gets you to Hard Times as well. Also, close to Danny K's is the Orange County Sports Grill that has about 4 7' Diamonds.

There is the ClassicQ near the airport, but no action. And Big Shots in El Toro, again, probably not much action. My league is there on Wednesday nights. All the places mentioned are mainly 9 foot tables.

Also, if you are just looking to shoot a few by yourself and don't want to go far, there is a Dave & Busters at the Irvine Spectrum. I believe Donny maintains those tables so he can say more about what they have there but last time I was in there they were 9 footers.

Sorry Brock. Irvine is in central Orange County. It's a good 6-8 hour drive from San Jose and San Francisco. It's about halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego.

And I have to agree with Mitch and Mike. Danny K's is about the only place around to reliably find any big table action around here. You can always find something at Hard Times, but it is a little farther away. Everything else is bar table, and it's still pretty sparse. Even the drunks are mostly talk. The one other place I would mention is Games Plus in Costa Mesa. There are usually a few players in there who will gamble, as long as it's on the Brunswick with 4" pockets in the front.

You need to head to the California Billiard Club in Mountain View, just north of San Jose.
