Just thought i would share a little story with you. Few years ago i was at a pool in Buffalo New York (Classic Cue). After i was playing for a few hours a guy came in to play on a table next to me. He looked like a guy that i watched play in the finals of the US Open 2 weeks prior on pay per view tv. But i figured i was just a gut that looked the same. So after watching him shoot and noticing that he rarely missed and played great position i figured i would approach him and ask who he was. To my suprise is was the guy i watched on tv playing for $30,000 dollars. So we chatted and shot a few racks. He was Alex Pagulyon. It might not be a big deal to anyone else but when u live in a small town like i do and love pool as much as i do it was my best pool hall expierence so far.

Good guy too, right?

I watched Alex play the 10 ball ghost behind his back on a bar table out in vegas a few years ago. He lost to the 10 ball ghost, but he asked to play the 9 ball ghost the same way and the guys betting against him said no...they were too worried that he would beat it that way. Pretty impressive. Alex is a really good guy also.

Southpaw

Alex has always seemed to me to be one of those guys that just gets so much FUN out of playing. Doesn't matter if he's practicing, playing in a tournament, or gambling. He LOVES to play!

Im from Buffalo and have seen Alex a few times in Classic Cue Billiards, not in some time though. I remember watchin Denis Hatch and Alex playing in the finals of the Empire State tour back in 96 or something as Classic Cue Billiards, it was a great match. I played in the tournament myself but was knocked out early if I remember right.

I've had the privlage of watching Denis play and got a few pointers from his father Greg before he passed away. Mark, Denis' uncle is a great player as well and I've had some fun playing against him too. Pool definitely ran well in that family. Just a couple memories I have...

Cheers,
Jim
