I think it would be cool to have pool halls have their own teams and challenge other Halls to have kind of a bragging rights competition... maybe a 100$ a head and a 5 team BCA format of round robin... I think it could be the start of getting youth involved with local HS teams that might be close to a Hall to have HS sport competitions... hey its got to start somewhere... didn't bowling alleys do that in the past with bowling teams?

That's what "leagues" used to be way back in the day.

One bar would get their 3 or 4 best players and they'd play against the 3 or 4 best at each of the other 7 or 8 bars in the surrounding area.

Leagues are basically that, many teams have a "home room" they play out of. I have been trying to do a inter-league tournament for a while, where each league in the area puts their top 3/4/5 people up, but while people think it's a good and fun no-one has been able to arrange it.

That's basically what I was going to say.

An old family member was thrilled to hear I could play pool, and then further thrilled when he saw my play. Almost got us jumped once, but that's a different tale.

He told me about when he was a young man in the fifties and 60s, his town would have competitions with others in the area.

This kind of happened this weekend in Illinois. 10 teams, Mosconi cup style mix of singles, doubles, team. 6 players on each team, 2 masters, 2 advanced, 2 open players. Not affiliated with any league. Played at Racks on the Rocks in Peoria.

The main two American table franchises here do this (mockingly, but it's fun). Just a fun little thing they do every now and then. I think it would be cool to reach into the idea a little more. Make it a bit more of a spectacle.

Going on right now. 2 of the top rooms in the metro Denver area.
i live in denver and this was the basis of my question, but thinking further toward hs teams or sports etc.. i think it could be another way for HS to have another sport, during any season they desire and it would help the pool rooms as well. This competition you linked was a higher fargo, they are thinking of doing another one soon with lower fargo players which i would be in.
