Pool halls and multi-colored chalks...

Going to a tournament next week. All the tables (Brunswick and Diamonds) have green felt on them. At my home I use tan chalk, because we have tan felt (obviously). Do pool halls allow you to use different colored chalks? I don't want to mess up the felt at the pool hall, but then again, I don't want to get blue chalk all over my table and cue...figuring its pretty hard to get off your tip once it is on.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

I would not use the tan chalk at the tournament. I would use the blue. JMHO.

At all, and I mean ALL, the poolhalls around me, they flip if you use tan colored chalk. I used some once when I bought a new cue and the owner FLIPPED out on me. I just suck it up and use the blue. I don't see the problem, if rooms properly cleaned their equipment it wouldn't matter. Whats the difference if you can see blue chalk on green felt or for that matter any other color(tan)?

Care to share pics of your table Kyzyl? When I get one its definately gonna be tan felt.

I own a pool room, and I only allow Blue or Green. The other colors just make a mess, and they also work no better than standard colors, they also are hard to get out of the cloth. It is much easier to clean your tip that to clean up after other colored chalks are used, which the tournament director will have to do if they let you use your chalk.

I think it is just common courtesy to go with the flow when not at home.

Yeah sure, I can show you some pics, our table felt is a Camel color, we were originally going to get Kaki, but they ran out. Camel is a little bit darker than Kaki; hides the dirt allot better though. It's a good-looking color that?s for sure.

These are crappy pics, you need to see the colors in real life before you decide on your final pick. Again, sorry for the poor camera work.

Thanks for responding!
