Hi, I'm new here, kind of. Long time lurker?

Anyways, I'm from Europe but my wife is from TX. We are staying in Austin until the 27th and I was wondering which pool halls you good people would recommend. Also I'm curious to see if there are any open tournaments I could participate in.

Thanks in advance,

Raggi from Europe.

Ps. I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this type of question.

Austin sits right on top of Interstate-35. Just a few miles north of Austin on I-35 is the city of Round Rock. Skinny Bob's pool hall is the one you seek. You'll thank me later.

The Grand on Airport is a good place to ge some practice in some Gold Crowns and ten 8' tables. Warehouse Billiards is also a good place to play, but Skinny Bob's is the place for Action.

I haven't been to Austin for ages I fear, but back in the day (2008 last time) Clicks used to be shabby place, but with well maintained tables and you could usually find people of all sizes, colors and mindsets there for playing ...

Slick Willies sometimes had small tourneys for charity once in a while, there was also one pool hall further west of Burnet I think.

Most places around Austin do not have 9" tables or only like 1 or 2 each ...

If the place still exists, you MUST go to the Texas Land and Cattle ... They used to have an all you can eat special on Monday nights for Smoked Sirloin with pepper crust ... I still dream of that meat :) (btw the special never appeared on any menu, you had to ask ;) )

Enjoy the time there!

The pool room was nice, but the smoking makes it almost unbearable. I heard there's a place in South Austin that has all 8' diamonds. Betsy's? I'm sure Dead Money will be along shortly to help out.
