Pool in Denver Colorado

I was going up there twice a month for a while a couple of years ago, and checked out every pool room in the area. My favorite was Table Stakes on Sheridan and 20th. There was lot's of action for just about any game you could want to play, good players, relatively well maintained equipment, a nice layout, and I think they were open 24-7. My second choice was Paradise Billiards whichI think was just up the road on Sheridan and maybe 38th? Also a respectable pool room with a little action, but not like Table Stakes. I heard that the owners of Table Stakes had just opened another location the last time I was there, but I didn't get to check it out. The word was that the new location was going to become the new go to pool hall for Denver players, but I'm not sure if that happened or not. Maybe some Denver players will chime in and give some more up to date info.

Pool in Denver CO

There are few great rooms my favorite's are Rack em and TableSteaks in Aurora. We have a great local pool mag called the cuetimes. If you go to website cuetimes.com they have every poolhall listed and all local tournaments. For the best action I highly recommend Rack Em in Aurora,CO on Thurs or Sat nights.Cuetimes.com has all the info on the scene here.Hope this helps. You can shoot me pm when you are here if you want.I know most of the local players in Aurora and Denver.

Denver

I like Table Steaks in Englewood
It's the newer room, very nice place, Gold Crown tables

Rack-em is a good place to play, Diamond tables
New owner

Both places support pool nicely
A little bit of action
Reasonable prices

Paridise Billiards is a 1/2 block west of Sheridan on the south side of 38th ave. If you pm me i will meet you there and play. I don't gamble anymore but am still competitive. And if you are really lucky a guy named Chuck may be there and he can shoot the lights out.

I will be in Lakewood area (Denver mailing address) to spend holidays with my folks

Folks:

I also will be in Denver from the afternoon of Dec. 24th, through Jan 2nd (leaving on a red-eye back to NY that night). I will be in the Lakewood area (but has a Denver mailing address), spending the holidays with my folks and extended family. The nearest places to play, for me, are the following:

Greenfields Pool and Sports Bar
http://greenfieldsbar.com/
(This place is literally in walking distance from my folks' house, but it's a sports bar with bar-boxes. I'm more of a big-table kind of guy, but this place is good in a pinch. Plus, they have some open tournaments peppered throughout their schedule on their main web page, so, oh heck, I might just have to show up. :) )

There's also "Sheridan Billiards" on Sheridan Blvd which is a 5min drive for me, but the last time I was in there (last year), it seemed a bit decrepit. (Tables were not well-maintained at all, either.)

Does anyone know this general area I'm speaking of, and would be able to recommend a close good-quality hall? Are the previously mentioned places (e.g. Table Steaks, Rack 'Em, and Paradise Billiards) close to this general area?

Would love to hook up with any AZB'ers while out there. I have a great straight pool and 1-hole game, but I'm willing to play anything -- just love to play regardless.

PM me with contact info if interested!
-Sean

As an ambassador of pool -l feel it its incumbent on all to insure you get action while you visit The Mile High Wonderment that is Denver Colorado. Unfortunately, my game is only about six inches off the ground, but l know a guy whose knows a guy.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND WELCOME TO DENVER, WE WILL ENDEAVOR TO KEEP YOU ENTERTAINED DURING YOUR STAY.

I'm no road player

Hello Folks:

I'm getting a lot of PMs from folks that think I must be looking for high stakes action while I'm in Denver. Apologies for any misleading hints I must've inadvertently put into my request, but folks, after all the Christmas shopping and just having a down financial year, I definitely am not looking for big-time action.

I'm only looking for some good players that want stiff competition, m-a-y-b-e put a ten-/twenty-spot on the line if we're both feeling froggy and want to make sure something's on the line to keep us focused, but no more than that.

I'll respond to the PMs I've received so far, but I just wanted to put this follow-up out there to let everyone know I'm not a road player or "ringer" with a big bankroll to bet. Just an avid player who loves good competition.

Apologies if I misled,
-Sean

Table Steaks South is near you in Englewood off of Floyd and Broadway.

I stopped into Table Steaks South last spring. Hoping to run into Samm and play a couple of games, but she was at a tournament somewhere up in the north part of town. The day we were there the conditions of the tables left a lot to be desired. The cloth was worn out and torn on several of the tables. Hope we had the bad timing of stopping in the day before they were to be refelted. Have also stopped into Paradise and found it to be a nice joint. Never been to Rack Em but want to stop in the next time we are traveling through.

Sadly...

Paradise is no more.
Table Steaks on Sheridan is no more.
Shakespeare's is no more.
The Colorado Cue Club is no more.

Basically, there's Rack Em and Table Steaks South. Table Steaks is a great place on the corner of Broadway and Hampden (both streets junction with I25). Rack Em is a bit far from where you'll be.

Greenfield's is also a good place...just remember where you are: the midwest is barbox country.

I'm in Denver from time to time. Shoot me a PM if you want to get together and play a few racks.

Hey Cash$$$

Ready for some more 3:00 am 1-pocket games?

With the reduced footprint at Table Steaks (if you haven't been there in the last few days) I am now calling it Coffee Table Steaks.

Peace

Ted

Paridise is still there but it is now called Hanks but he left the Paridise sign up . It is at 38th and Sheridan.
The Colorado Cue Club has reopened as Charlies.

You're not referring to the shot I made when you had 3-balls sitting in your pocket and I had no shot are you?????

Or the next game, same scenario, when I bounced the 5-ball off the titty into my pocket.

It was all skill...
